Museums, Museums and itchy feet.
In to the City, courtesy of BM again this morning.
Hitting the Museums today. First, sorry, second port of call the Maritime Museum.
Not much need to go into detail, it was nice, it had boats, it had historical boats, and knots.. As maritime museums go, it definitely is one.
Actually that's a little unfair, as I spent a good two hours in there mooching around the boats, and exhibits.
Really enjoyed the Americas Cup exhibit, and watched the documentary on Sir Peter Blake, he was pretty cool. I even bought some red socks!
Then the steep, but pretty walk up through the park to Auckland Museum, what a view from the top, and what a great building. The war memorial outside was beautiful, and the hall of fallen soldiers was very moving.
Terrific exhibits about the history of the islands, the cost of the wars and the cultures and peoples of NZ.
Again I'm not going to run into lots of details, as they have a web site, and I've got itchy feet already.
After returning to the city centre, I realised I need to move on.
So right now I should be sorting travel to Wellington, not tapping away on here.
I want to be there for the weekend, as I've got some serious catching up to do with a damn good old buddy.
So Ta Ra for now, and I'll write again from Welly.
